Everyone has their own reasons for joining FUEL Your Life. A lot of people have been riding the roller coaster of life and suddenly they feel and look much older than their actual age. <

The purpose of this program is to get you back on track to feeling young and healthy by eating better and being more active.
Eating better and being more active will hellp you to Feel better, Up your game, Enjoy life, and Live longer!

This program is for everyone. You will develop your own plan during FUEL Your Life that meets your individual needs.

The Process

During FLL you will

  • Learn the facts about healthy eating and being active
  • Learn what makes it hard for you to eat healthy and be active
  • Learn how to change these things so they work for you, not against you.

For example you will learn how to:

  • Find the time to be active.
  • Get what you want when eating out and make what you want when eating in.
  • Make sure you have things around you that make you want to be active and eat better.
  • Stay positive and don't get discourage.
  • Get back on track when you slip from your plan to eat healthy and be active.
  • Handle stress and other things that make it hard for you to change.

FLL Goal # 1

Maintain or achieve healthy weight. Is your weight where it should be? In that case your goal is to maintain it. If you are overweight then your goal should be to lose weight. A common strategy is to lose a percentage of your current weight. If, for example, you weight 200 lbs and are overweight, your goal may be to lose a percentage such as 7%, or 14 lbs.

FLL Goal # 2

Do 2 and 1/2 hours of brisk physical activity each week.

For example, take a walk or ride a bike for 30 minutes, five days a week.

These goals are safe and can be reached but you will work towards them gradually.

Reaching your goals will help you:

  1. Feel Better. More energy and less aches and pains.
  2. Up Your Game. Perform better on and off of the field
  3. Enjoy Life More. Spend your money on a dream vacation, not on doctor's bills.
  4. Live Longer. See your children and grandchildren grow up... and use your pension!

To Do Next Week:

To reach your goals you need to fuel your body with the right foods in the right amounts. It is important to know what you are eathing now before making any changes. Your first assignment is to use this system to enter and track everything that you eat and drink every day. It is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of changing your behavior.

You will:

  • Participate in group sessions
  • Complete assignments
  • Do your best to reach your goals
  • Keep track of your eating and physical activity
  • Let your occupational health nurse know if you have any problems
  • Stay willing and open to change
  • Always hang in there!

Your peer health coach will:

  • Be honest
  • Stand by you during hard times
  • Believe that you can reach your eating and activity goals
  • Support and help you
  • Always hang in there for you.
